Ladina Hösli Wins Best Poster Award at Volume Electron Microscopy GRS 2025

We are proud to announce that two of our PhD students have been awarded the prestigious UZH Candoc Grant to support their outstanding doctoral research.
Jeanne Droux (Group El Amki/Wegener) received the grant for her project “From brain to body: systemic immune dysfunction as a cause of peripheral organ damage poststroke.” Her work investigates how immune responses triggered by brain injury contribute to damage in other organs.
Viktor Beilmann (Group Tina Notter) was awarded the grant for his project “Astrocyte-derived kynurenic acid disrupts neuronal and cognitive functions - implications for major psychiatric disorders.” His research focuses on the role of astrocyte metabolism in brain function and its potential impact on the development of psychiatric conditions.
We warmly congratulate Jeanne and Viktor on this well-deserved recognition and wish them continued success in their research endeavors!
